Amid Korean mobile operators and mobile phone makers preparing to open their own version of Apple's App Store, the online application marketplace is emerging as a new and very promising land. For successful business in advance of the new eco-system, having a better understanding of the App Store platform is necessary.

At the 9th Mobile Monday Seoul, scheduled to be held on September 9th, we will share diverse opinions regarding the App Store platform.

Jeen Kwon, a researcher for Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI), will share her view of the open mobile platform and application marketplace. Further, Qualcomm will introduce the details of its Plaza retail solution and update its Brew mobile platform.

On June 8th, Mobile Monday will hold the monthly networking event with the smartphone theme, titled "Smartphone Evolution, Smartphone Chipset Evolution".
Amidst the shrinkage of the global mobile phone market, the demand for smartphones is continuously increasing. Smartphones are expected to lead the recovery of the slump within the whole handset market.
